The Work Behind the Work

For most of my career, I've communicated ideas through advertising. Today, I create art for a different reason—not to persuade, but to connect.

My work is shaped by a lifetime of observation and, more recently, by experiences of caregiving, loss, chaos, and the resilience that quietly emerges through both.

Working in mixed media, I blend traditional and digital techniques to build images in an artistic fusion style that relies on metaphor, texture, and simplicity. I believe the most meaningful work doesn’t explain everything; it leaves room for the viewer’s own memories and experiences to complete the story.

I'm interested in the spaces between certainty and ambiguity, presence and absence, hope and grief. Whether the subject is deeply personal or rooted in broader social concerns, I aim to create work that resonates emotionally without dictating a single interpretation.

If a piece makes someone feel seen, reminds them of someone they love, or prompts a new question, then it has done its work—the conversation has begun.

Art is meant to be experienced—not just viewed. While I hope this website offers a glimpse into my work, there’s no substitute for standing in front of a piece and discovering your own connection to it.

I invite you to visit the galleries and exhibitions where my work is currently on view, including the South Haven Center for the Arts 'Care' Exhibit, and the Colfax Cultural Center's Social Justice Exhibit beginning August 7, 2026.
