Graphic designer and illustrator Steve Sult from Niles, Michigan, has been notified of his entry with Everybody Has A Story. His work was selected as Best in the National Juried Poster Exhibition at Southern Miss 2025, held at the University of Southern Mississippi's Museum of Art.

A Prestigious Recognition

The national juried exhibition featured posters by graphic artists from across the United States. The jury included Michael Borosky, a distinguished alumnus of USM and co-founder of Eleven Inc. Borosky's celebrated career includes collaborations with iconic brands such as Apple, Google, and Disney.

The National Poster Exhibition featured over 18 posters designed by 12 graphic artists from around the country. The jury based their selections solely on artistic and design excellence. The chosen works span traditional posters and illustrations to more experimental pieces.

A Diverse Array of Art

“This year’s exhibition presents a rich variety of beautifully designed posters. Some communicate messages of political or social concern, others promote musical or sporting events, and some are purely aesthetic designs,” said Mark Rigsby, museum director and professor of Art and Design.

The benefit concert poster by Steve Sult for YWCA/Everybody Has a Story showcases his artistic style, heavily influenced by DIY movements and the visual design of Eastern European propaganda posters. His artistic style is characterized by a limited color palette of black, red, and white, digitally simulating the processes of screen printing, stenciling, and collage.

About Steve Sult

Steve creates his art in southwestern Michigan from his studio in Niles. He opened Sult Mine Creative Group in 2003 and has earned a national and international reputation as a creative director, art director, and illustrator. Over the years, he has developed new products and successfully contributed to more than seventy client organizations, both established and emerging, across various industries in the United States, South America, China, and Europe.

His creations manifest in artistic prints, apparel, home products, and posters in public spaces.
